Pram workout with toddler ๐ฒ
Is this still possible?
From my personal experience it is ๐
I have been asked many times, how can I keep my nearly 2 years old in the pram to have a workout?
I honestly think that one of the reason my son stays in pram is the fact that it was and is his routine for a very long time, I walked with him for hours when he was very little ๐ but of course his needs are changing, he is growing and need to move his little body much more then before.
I do put his needs first before my own need for training but you can really find a balance solution to it.
Few ways how to incorporate pram workout intoย your toddler life๐
A to B route –ย I always explain to Alex where are we going. Most of my workouts happen whilst we walk to his activities, playing groups etc. He never complains as he understand he is going to play and I suppose pram is like being in the car (without the roof๐) but he gets plenty of fresh air, he enjoys looking at the cars around or watching squirrels – the choice is your how you plan your route. I tend to change it for variety for him. We would just make a day out of it, have pack lunch or go for lunch after the activity, play in the park afterwards etc and when we finish with his activities he would happily jump into pram and fall asleep most of the time so I would just speed up to get back home to use that time for anything I plan to do. Although it works for both of us perfectly I can recognise it can not be as easy, depending how far you live from the activities and if you do live far, you always have an option to park half way and pram walk๐๐ช
– picking time around the nap time – as a parent we already have the experience of adapting things so planning your time of workout around kids it nothing new for parents of active todllers. I would know when Alex it’s ready for his nap and then if I feel for workout I will use that few minutes for brisk, effective walk to get some body movements in๐๐ and of course once they fast asleep the time is yours๐คฉ I personally do some short bursts of walks, use my resistance tool for some functional exercises and use the rest of nap time for other things
– unwinding evening time – a great way to get your little one for a pram walk around the block to keep them relax, calm and refresh before bed and what a lovely time for mum/dad to get their endorfins elevated to feel good ๐ช๐
Hope you find it helpful ๐๐คฉ
Enjoy your pram effective walks
