Pumpkin seeds are a rich source of tryptophan, an amino acid (protein building block) that our body converts into serotonin, which in turn is converted into melatonin, the “sleep hormone.” Eating pumpkin seeds a few hours before bed, along with a carbohydrate like a small piece of fruit, may be especially beneficial for providing our body the tryptophan needed for your melatonin and serotonin production to help promote a restful night’s sleep.
I blended pumpkin seeds with apple sauce and created tablets alike shapes they are easy to chew, not to sweet and consistency is just perfect if you feel a bit peckish before bed. It is a comfort type night time snack
Ingredients :
300 gram of pumpkin seeds
90 gram of barmley apple sauce
In food processor blend pumpkin seeds first and then add apple sauce. Carry on blending for few moments until dough has formed and then create little tablet shapes alike. Keep them in the fridge up to 3- 4 days or freeze them and defrost before use. They are like a natural sleeping medicine
